About Atlas
Atlas is a Soar fare option that can save you money when your intended arrival airport is a connection on a longer ticket. You travel to the Atlas arrival shown by Soar, leave the airport there, and do not take the later flight to the ticketed final destination. Soar shows both airports before purchase so you can make an informed choice.
The airline still treats the full route as the ticketed itinerary. Choosing Atlas does not change the airline’s fare rules or contract of carriage, and the unused portion of the ticket has no refund value.
Issues are uncommon
Most travelers using this fare pattern complete their trip without a problem; published traveler data reports a 99.7% no-issue rate. Atlas travel is generally treated as an airline-contract matter, not a criminal matter. Criminal prosecution is not the ordinary airline response, and legal action against an occasional individual traveler is exceptionally rare.
Rare does not mean impossible. An airline may decide that intentionally not taking a ticketed flight conflicts with its rules and may take action against the ticket, fare, loyalty account, or traveler.
Carry-on luggage only
Do not check a bag on an Atlas trip. Checked luggage normally travels to the ticketed final destination, not the Atlas arrival. A small personal item that fits under the seat is safest because an overhead carry-on can be gate-checked when bins are full or when the bag exceeds the airline’s limits. If a bag is checked at any point, it may be sent beyond the airport where you plan to leave.
Ticket sequence and route changes
Airlines generally cancel every later flight on the same ticket after a traveler does not take one segment. Do not rely on any later segment, including a return flight, that appears on the same ticket. Soar may arrange outbound and return travel as independent one-way tickets, but you should review each confirmation before travel.
The airline may cancel, delay, or reroute a flight. A new route might no longer pass through the Atlas arrival you selected, or the airline may send you to the ticketed final destination instead. Soar does not control airline schedule changes or rebooking decisions.
Loyalty programs and repeated use
We recommend that you do not attach an airline frequent-flyer number to an Atlas booking or use airline miles or status benefits for it. An airline may remove miles, restrict benefits, suspend or close a loyalty account, or restrict future travel. Repeatedly using Atlas on the same airline or route in a short period may increase the chance of review.
International documents
You must carry every passport, visa, transit authorization, proof of onward or return travel, and other document required for the entire ticketed itinerary, even if you plan to leave at the Atlas arrival. An airline may deny check-in or boarding when you do not meet the entry or transit requirements for the ticketed final destination.
Follow airline and airport instructions
Atlas does not require or authorize you to make false statements, misrepresent your plans, disobey airline personnel, or violate any law. You remain responsible for complying with airline, airport, security, customs, immigration, and government requirements throughout the trip.
Your acknowledgment and allocation of risk
By booking an Atlas fare, you confirm that you understand how the fare works and knowingly accept the restrictions described above. You assume the risk that an airline may reroute you, deny boarding, cancel or revoke a ticket, cancel later flights, reprice the itinerary, seek a fare difference, move checked or gate-checked baggage to another airport, limit future travel, or take action against a loyalty account.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree that Soar and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, suppliers, and licensors are not liable for those airline actions or for resulting losses, including replacement travel, fare differences, lodging, meals, ground transportation, baggage retrieval, lost loyalty benefits, or other incidental or consequential costs. Soar does not guarantee that an airline will honor, preserve, or rebook an Atlas ticket.
Nothing in these Atlas Terms limits a right or remedy that cannot be waived under applicable law.
How these terms fit together
These Atlas Terms supplement and form part of Soar’s general Terms & Conditions. The general Terms, including their warranty disclaimers, liability limits, dispute terms, and airline-responsibility provisions, also apply to every Atlas search and booking. If these Atlas Terms conflict with the general Terms on an Atlas-specific issue, these Atlas Terms control that issue.
